All you have to do is fill out a form at your bank telling them how much, what date each month, your account number, our bank routing number and our account number. You should send a copy of this paper form to Community Bank of OPRF, 1101 Lake St., Oak Park, IL 60301, attn: Bill Villarreal, and one to us for our files.

When it's set up with your bank, the first transfer should be for $0 and be a paper check, so that we know it is working and coming to the correct account. Thereafter, it will be by electronic transfer in the amount the donor specifies and on the date they specify.

Stocks/Securities donations offer tax benefits
Gifts of securities often confer significant tax benefits on a donor. For example, contributions of appreciated securities held for over a year are generally deductible at market value, regardless of what the donor paid for them; moreover, the capital gains tax is avoided through such gift. To notify CGS of a gift of securities, please contact Kathleen Hopkins at kathleenhopkins@cgsusa.org with complete donor information (name, address, phone number), the name and type of securities to be gifted (public, private, restricted, mutual fund, etc.), the number of shares, and the date you intend to make the gift.

Matching gifts are available through some employers
Contact your company for more information to find out if they offer matching gifts for religious organizations.
