Course Coordinator
Marrey fell in love with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in 2004 at the first session of her Level I course, and has gone on to complete all three levels of training. She is currently in the Master of Pastoral Studies program at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.
Since 2005 she has been the CGS Coordinator at St. Giles Parish in Oak Park, Illinois, leading all levels at one point or another and sometimes at the same time! Her greatest joy is watching her own daughters working in the atrium, and their journey has inspired her own.
Marrey joined the staff of the National Association in 2007. Her professional background has been two-fold: first in business and then in education. After earning her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Bachelor of Science in Statistics from Western Michigan University, Marrey moved to Chicago and began a career in commercial banking. Following her Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Chicago, she moved to corporate finance and worked at several venture capital-backed firms before becoming an executive in charge of eCommerce at a GE Capital company. Choosing to spend more time with her children, she completed her Master of Arts in Teaching - Secondary Math at Dominican University and taught high-school math for several years. Combining her two backgrounds, she founded an independent firm specializing in private instruction and enrichment by certified, experienced teachers.
Marrey resides in Oak Park with her gourmet cook - husband, Will, and daughters, Isabelle and Vivian. Outside of the atrium, she finds enjoyment in reading, practicing martial arts with her daughters, leading her daughters' Girl Scout troops, watching her horses race, running and doing many activities with her family.
