Updates for the Level I Materials Manual

“Making the materials by hand is an essential way of entering more deeply into the theme we will present to the children.
It helps us to slow down and to pace ourselves more to the rhythm of the child, as well as
to be more attentive to the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, material-making is an invaluable opportunity
for us as adults to experience the integration of hand, mind and heart.”

We are happy to announce that the Level I Materials Manual has been updated. We have added links for the directions for making the Tabernacle, the Vestments of the Priest, the City of Jerusalem and the Empty Tomb. The links to Altar III and the Baptism Corner concerning the Pascal candle and the white garment are now fixed and working. Since the launch of this manual last summer we have continued to add to it and improve it. We will continue to do so in response to our vision to provide a manual at each level with accurate and most excellent plans and schematics for constructing atrium materials.

Many have asked “Do I need a subscription to the online manual if I have already built the atrium?” Our best advice is a resounding “Yes!” Even the most seasoned catechist will want access to all that is offered with the subscription: frequently asked questions about materials; photos of materials from Sofia’s and Gianna’s Level I atrium in Rome; links for making materials by hand, directions in downloadable, print-ready PDFs. The online Manual also includes the changes to materials affected by the implementation of the Roman Missal, Third Edition.

Subscribers receive periodic email alerts announcing updates and changes. This first alert is being sent to the entire membership to give everyone an opportunity to consider subscribing. If you have not yet subscribed you may do so online in the Members Only section of our website.

We are working hard to complete the Level II Materials Manual by the end of the summer of 2012. We will keep you posted as to its progress. Please hold the team working on this in prayer. A special thanks to all who have donated that extra $10 with their membership dues for this work. Every dollar counts and gets us a little bit closer to the completion of the next manual. If you would like to join the effort you can make a donation at our website.

We are very grateful to those who have offered such heartfelt salutations for this work and to those who have provided valuable feedback. We thank all of you for your patience as we work through this project. So many of you have told us of your enjoyment in the making and remaking of the materials from the plans found in this new manual.

May the favor of the Lord our God be ours.
Prosper the work of our hands!
