2018 Call for Board of Trustees Nominations

A Call for Nominations to the CGSUSA Board of Trustees

All nominations must be received by Tuesday, September 11, 2018, and all nominee biographies by Friday, September 14, 2018.

We are pleased to announce that the nomination process  for the CGSUSA Board of Trustees is now open!

Service on the Board is open to all members. Those elected will begin their service just after  just after the annual meeting on Thursday, October 25, 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Board of CGSUSA has seven trustees, each of whom is elected for a three-year term. This year, members have the opportunity to elect three board members.

Carol Hanlon has served CGSUSA as an appointed board member for the past two years, completing the unfinished term of Mary Heinrich when she joined the CGSUSA staff as Membership Coordinator.  We greatly appreciate Carol’s dedicated efforts on the Board, especially her clear articulation of Organization Memberships and the value of the gift of membership in CGSUSA.  Carol looks forward to continuing her work as a Level 3 catechist in the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania but will not be seeking re-election on the board.  We wish to thank Carol for her hard work and helpful contributions to the work of the board.  We will miss her.

The first term of board member Barbara Matera and the second term of board member Patti Franz also expire this year.  Both Barbara and Patti have offered to continue their service by standing again for election.

We are seeking nominees to stand for election for the open board positions, and we encourage all members of the Association to consider nominating individuals whom they consider to be worthy candidates.  Nominations are due by September 11, 2018.

The Board of Trustees governs the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, United States of America (CGSUSA). A board member acts as a sponsor, ambassador, fund raiser, and consultant for the Association. Please prayerfully consider if you or someone you know would be a good candidate for the board. To help with this process, the current board has put together the following information regarding expertise sought on the board at this time as well as expected responsibilities of board members.

The role and responsibility of the Board is to ensure that our National Association remains faithful to our purpose and mission. We encourage all members of the Association to consider nominating individuals who they think might be suited to this work and have the necessary resources to facilitate this work.

Please prayerfully consider if you know someone who would be a good candidate for the Board. To help with this process, the current Board has put together the following information regarding expertise sought on the Board at this time as well as expectations of Board members.
