The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Symposia at University of Notre Dame Monday, June 26, 2017 - Friday, June 30, 2017 05:00 PM - 12:00 PM The Sacramental Imagination and the Senses of the Scriptures This program is designed for CGS trained catechists, parish catechists using other methods beside CGS, high school theology teachers looking to incorporate contemplative practice in the classroom, and parents wanting assistance in the religious formation of their children. Every participant in our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Symposium will receive a biblical formation grounded in the liturgy, as well as a series of pedagogical techiques to use within various catechetical settings or in the classroom. We will also make use of liturgical and secular art, chapels, liturgical manuscripts, and all that is available on the campus of the University of Notre Dame to facilitate this formation in the sacramental teaching of the Scriptures. The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Symposium runs from the evening of June 26, 2017 until noon on June 30, 2017. Lastly, students will be able to encounter a copy of the Saint John's Bible, which we will use both in our study and prayer together. Morning lectures will be followed in the afternoon with developing various pedagogical techniques by working with calligraphers, art historians, manuscripts, and through learning monastic and contemplative methods of prayer. In the evening, we will pray together around various parables that inspired the work of Sofia Cavalletti. For more information or to register, click
