Roots and Shoots
More About Roots and Shoots
Patricia Coulter generously shares in the introduction to this collection of essays that: This little work is in joyful recognition of the centenary of Sofia Cavaletti’s birth, and in grateful acknowledgement of the blessing of her friendship for almost forty years. The essays are grouped into two broad categories. The first is called roots, to indicate some of the sources from which Sofia Cavalletti drew plentifully. The other is called shoots, to indicate some of the outgrowth in the catechesis that she and Gianna Gobbi developed. These essays were written forty years ago; however, they refer to seminal writings of Sofia, and to pivotal figures and documents in 20th century Christian thought and Catholic theology that remain significant today.
