The Staff and Volunteers who manage and run the CGSUSA Store have one goal; to provide most excellent publications, materials, and resources to members, catechists, and families in the most courteous, timely, and cost-efficient manner possible. Should you ever need to return an item or pursue a refund, the CGSUSA Staff are here to help. CGSUSA continues to refine shipping solutions our systems are capable of supporting to develop a positive outcome for our customers.

Return and Refund Policy
Shipping and Handling Policy
If you are not happy with your purchase, we will accept the returned product within 30 days of item receipt with proof of purchase of the item(s) or proof of received return delivery. Returned items must be delivered to CGSUSA unused, in original packaging, and in the condition they were received. All goods will be inspected upon return, and we aim to accept all returns. In the unlikely event that an item is returned in an unsuitable condition, it may be returned to the original purchaser. Used or opened items may not be eligible for refund or may be subject to a restocking fee.

We cannot be held responsible for items damaged or lost in return shipment; therefore, we strongly recommend an insured and traceable mail service. Once we receive the returned item(s), CGSUSA will issue a refund for the full value of all merchandise returned (excluding shipping as we are unable to refund the initial shipping cost of your order). Please allow 1-2 weeks for your return to be processed.

Damaged, Broken, or Missing Items

If any items arrived damaged or broken please Contact Us right away and include a photo of your damaged item and the package in which it arrived. CGSUSA will be happy to send a free replacement within 30 days of receipt of order. If any items are missing from your order, please Contact Us within 30 days of receipt and CGSUSA will be happy to ship the missing items at no charge. We are unable to assist with items that arrived broken, missing items, and missing packages outside of the 30 days return/exchange timeframe and without a photo of the damaged items and package.

Our goal is to ship your order within 3-5 business days from the time your order is placed. We ship via USPS using Flat Rate Priority Mail shipping. We have found this to be the best option for our customers, and we can ship more without weight being an issue. Our offices are open Monday through Thursday, so orders placed on Thursday may not be shipped until Monday. We ship domestically as well as internationally. Please allow extra time during May, June, July and August to avoid not receiving your order in time for your training. We see a high volume of orders during that time. We have a small staff and limited technical resources with many works to be done, so we will accommodate special orders and any issues that may arise to the best of our collective abilities.

Current Shipping Rates

Effective 1/11/2022, CGSUSA continues to offer a flat rate shipping policy.

  • All U.S. Domestic orders will ship at a flat rate of $14.50 per order, regardless of quantity of items included in order.
  • International orders will incur a surcharge of $80.00 per order.
  • The only exceptions will be some specific Shepherd’s Closet items/materials (less than 10 individual items) which will incur an additional per item shipping charge as these items must be packaged in individual or over-sized boxes. In these cases, the additional shipping fee will be displayed prior to checkout.
  • It is our sincere hope that this approach will permit CGSUSA to serve our members and customers faithfully and in the spirit of the work we all share. However, this policy is subject to change without prior notice.

Welcome to CGSUSA

We believe God and the child have a unique relationship with one another. Children need their own place to foster the growth of that relationship. The growth of this relationship is assisted by the adult, but is directed by the Spirit of God within the child.

What is the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd? The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd was born from the joy of the children’s encounter with God. It has been observed that children of the same developmental stage, even those from widely varying cultural backgrounds, respond to elements of the Christian message in the same way.

Learn with CGS

In Catechesis of the Good Shepherd adults are given the opportunity to embrace a method of catechesis (or religious education) that will deepen one’s relationship with God. Catechist formation in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is both instructive as well as experiential. It captivates both the head as well as the heart.

Connect to CGSUSA

We read in the Gospel of Mark that Jesus sent his disciples out in pairs, two by two; the journey was not meant to be a solitary one. It is essential for us as catechists to support one another as we prepare materials, work in the atrium, and observe the child. We come together in unity, as members of CGSUSA, to share the joy of this work.

Support CGSUSA

Through their joy, their wonder and awe, their capacity for love and prayer, and their radical simplicity, children offer us adults a glimpse of what it means to fall in love with God. This has been the work of CGSUSA for over 30 years: to advocate for the child’s joy.
