Clarifications and Printing Errors
After the CGS-Roman Missal Committee prepared The Roman Missal, Third Edition & The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Kits for our membership, we have become aware of a few items that need your attention:
Level I Clarification: Altar III and the Remaining Articles of the Mass
The corporal (corpus meaning body) is the cloth placed on top of the altar cloth. The chalice and Host are placed on the corporal after Consecration.
A cross may be worked into it near the front edge. No cross is allowed in its center which would necessarily give some difficulty when collecting the fragments.
The wall chart in the Level I RMTE & CGS Kit CD mistakenly shows the red cross in the center of the corporal. The new Online Materials Manual for Level I shows the correct placement of the cross on the corporal, which is along the edge.
Level I Printing Error: Epiclesis
On page fourteen of the Level I RMTE & CGS Kit booklet, the word “have” is missing from the words of the prayer. The words of the prayer are:
“Therefore, O Lord, we humbly implore you: by the same Spirit graciously make holy these gifts we have brought to you for consecration, that they make become the Body and Blood of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ.”
The CD in the Level I RMTE & CGS Kit shows the correct wording. We regret this error in printing.
Level II Printing Error: Preparation of the Chalice
On page fourteen of the Level II RMTE & CGS Kit booklet, there is a question mark symbol (?) at the end of the prayer. There should not be a question mark at the end of this prayer. The CD in the Level II RMTE & CGS Kit shows the correct punctuation. We regret this error in printing.
Level II Clarification: The Healing of the Centurion’s Servant
On page thirty-six of the Level II RMTE & CGS Kit booklet, the people’s response has inserted the words “my servant” instead of “my soul” when referring to the people’s response at Mass. The response that is listed should read:
“Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.”
The words to be written on the two large cards are correct. Please refer to the CD in the Level II RMTE & CGS Kit when making this material.
