Hosting CGS Adult Formation

Should you have already started Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in your parish or school with an atrium environment and perhaps you have one or two trained catechists as well and now you would like to train more catechists. You may be ready to host a course in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.

What kind of space is needed for such a course?

  • An adult meeting room
  • An atrium: it is very beneficial to help participants capture the vision of this approach to have an atrium – the sacred prepared environment for the children with most if not all the materials needed for the presentations.

Please  review the  Characteristics of Official Formation Courses and contact our Director of Formation, Karen Maxwell

She will provide additional information about what is needed for a course and can provide recommendations for formation leaders.

If you have not hosted a course before or have not hosted in several years, you may wish to review all the information detailed in the the Hosting Information Packet and Checklist below. If you are a Formation Leader who also serves as the Course Coordinator or if you serve as a Hosting Site Coordinator regularly, you may wish to review only the checklist before moving on to the Registration and Agreement Form.  The Registration Fee Information and Course Roster Instructions are also included as separate documents as all must agree to these terms when hosting and registering CGS adult formation.

What is the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd? The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd was born from the joy of the children’s encounter with God. It has been observed that children of the same developmental stage, even those from widely varying cultural backgrounds, respond to elements of the Christian message in the same way.
